| Yorkshire & Humberside | North Yorkshire | Harrogate | Broadleaved, mixed and yew woodland - upland | Jackie Smith | 1 | 1012012 | 17.52 | 24 Apr 2005 | Favourable | Mature high forest. Overstood ash and hazel coppice. W10 oak woodland and W9/8 ash woodland with some W7 alder patches. Improving structure, with good ash regen and dead wood. Diverse site with excellent ground flora of bluebell, ramsons and dogs mercury. Problems with sycamore abundance ( though not affecting ground flora) and locally Him balsam. | |
| Yorkshire & Humberside | North Yorkshire | Harrogate | Broadleaved, mixed and yew woodland - upland | Jackie Smith | 2 | 1012013 | 17.31 | 01 Jul 2009 | Unfavourable recovering | Varied structure and stand types across the unit. Sycamore and sycamore regeneration requires management to prevent further spread and preferably reduce extent. The level of regeneration in the woodland to be monitored. Varied ground flora which includes Festuca altissima noted on a cliff area, Carex strigosa (Thin spiked wood sedge) and stellaria nemorum (wood stitchwort). Melampyrum pratense (Common cow wheat) noted outside unit. Tufa deposits well vegetated. Saplings (eg. elder, bird cherry, ash etc) should be removed from the tufa. The management plan address the above issues. | |
