Istocy

Theoretical equilibrium in the earth's crust. This equilibrium may be disturbed by changes to the weight of the land as erosion or deposition takes place. A key change was brought about by the melting of the Continental ice sheets at the end of the last glaciation. The reduced weight has resulted in some area to rise (north Scotland and Norway) whilst other have sunk (southern North Sea)
