Nature Conservation Review site

Nature Conservation Review sites are those considered to be of national importance in Great Britain as examples of natural and semi-natural habitats. Descriptions of the habitats and sites can be found in (Ratcliffe 1977). Whilst the identification of these areas had no statutory significance it provided the basis for selection of National Nature Reserves and subsequently was used as a first sift for SACs.
