Projects funded by the European Union
There are several funding opportunities with LIFE being the most frequently
used for habitat management and restoration schemes (see LIFE home page @ http://europa.eu.int/comm/environment/life/home.htm.).
Specific LIFE and other EU funded restoration programmes are as follows:
Life Nature
The LIFE - Nature programme contributes grant aid and promotes projects within
the European Community on sites of Community interest under the EU Habitats
(92/43/EEC) and Birds (79/409/EEC) Directives. It involves actions aimed at
conservation of natural habitats and the wild fauna and flora of European Union
interest supporting the implementation of nature conservation policy in member
states and 'third countries'. Relevant restoration projects are:
