Rømø, Denmark - natural dune development and
recreation
Former stabilised foredunes on the island of Rømø have in recent
years been left to develop more naturally as dune stabilisation has stopped.
The natural dynamic has been reintroduced, partly by recreational pressure and
is considered to provide a "geomorphologically more interesting landscape"
(Reimers 2001).
