CIRIA - Coastal and Marine Environmental Site Guide

This Environmental Site Guide provides practical advice for front-line supervisors, managers and engineers working in the coastal and marine environment on how to control impacts potentially arising from construction works. The Guide has four chapters:

  1. Introduction;
  2. The Construction Site;
  3. Environmental Issues; and
  4. Construction Processes.

It is intended to be a reference book, a user-friendly guide and a training aid. This report is accompanied by a poster and by a pocket book that present key advice on operating in the coastal and marine environment.

The Guide reinforces and builds upon the principles relating to the control of environmental impacts arising from construction practices developed in the CIRIA 'Environmental Good Practice on Site' Handbook (C502) and in other CIRIA publications.
