How to get there: Sign posted from Upper Shoreham Road. From Old Shoreham Road (A283) turn into Upper Shoreham Road, then turn north into Erringham Road and then left into Mill Hill. Continue up the hill and over the bridge. Mill Hill LNR starts after the last house. By bus - take the number 19 (Brighton & Hove Buses) to Mill Hill Drive, then walk up Mill Hill to the reserve. Check bus times and route changes at www.buses.co.uk
Visitor facilities: Two car parks, Information board, easy access trail, picnic bench for disabled and other benches.
What to see: Unimproved species rich chalk grassland, scrub, mature scrub and secondary woodland. One of the best butterfly sites in Sussex with over 29 species recorded. Chalk grassland is part of a Sussex habitat Action Plan and Mill Hill has over 160 recorded species of flowering plants and up to 30 recorded species per metre. The reserve has spectacular views over the River Adur, over surrounding downland and south out to sea.

Butterflies include Adonis Blue, Species Action Plan species. The reserve is noted for its display of yellow horseshoe vetch in spring, visible for miles.
Volunteer and 'Friends of' groups: 3 volunteer groups carry out work on the reserve: South Downs Volunteer Ranger Service, Portslade Green Gym, Brighton Conservation Volunteers.
