Site description:
Jetty Marsh and Hackney Marshes LNRs and the proposed Coombe Valley LNR are in Countryside Stewardship. Further habitat management works through this project would contribute to local and national BAP targets.Jetty Marsh LNR is an important 3.7 hectare (ha) wetland and wildlife corridor at the head of the Teign Estuary, which is very popular with local people. Hackney Marshes is a wetland wildlife haven, a piece of coutnryside on the doorstep of the people of Kingsteighton. Coombe Valley proposed LNR nestles between housing developments in NW Teignmouth and provides a piece of accessible countryside to a large catchment of people. Aller Brook Nature Reserve proposed LNR is a small site which follows the last kilometre of the Aller Brook to the Teign Estuary. An ‘Access for all’ path through the site is well-used by cyclists, walkers, baby buggies and wheelchairs with plenty of wildlife to enjoy. No details available for the other proposed sites |
