Local Nature Reserves (LNRs) are for both people and wildlife. They are places with wildlife or geological features that are of special interest locally. They offer people special opportunities to study or learn about nature or simply to enjoy it.

This section of the Natural England site aims to give people factual information about LNRs and to raise general awareness of them. It describes how Natural England's role helps LNR projects to happen and features initiatives that we have grant aided through the LNR grant scheme, Wildspace!
